QUALIFICATIONSEducation/
Experience:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited or US Armed Forces Surgical Technologists school and/or program or employed as a Surgical Technologist at a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013.
Preferred:
At least one year operating room scrub experienceOther Skills/Knowledge:
Required:
Basic computer skillsFor safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital teamLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Must obtain Surgical Technician Certification within 12 months of graduation date.
Preferred:
Current Surgical Technician Certification upon hireNote:
Surgical Technologists that were employed as Surgical Technologists in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013 are exempted from the certification requirement, as allowed by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
